The READINGS deck consists of 78 cards. 70 of them are black and white photographs with colored borders. 7 of them are plain color cards. One of them is blank. The backs of the cards are a colorful grid of colors based on a knitting pattern.
These cards can be used as you wish- to tell stories, to assess the situation, to inspire, to confound. The photos were made in various parts of the United States, Vietnam, and Sweden, and they present a variety of themes, ideas, subjects, and text. Photographs are traditional black and white, shot on film with a medium format camera.
The deck was produced in 2019 to coincide with my Frieze Project “Psychic Art Advisor” at the Frieze Fair in LA.

There are no specific instructions for using this deck. Draw single cards or multiples. Shuffle, cut, throw them against the wall and see what sticks. Have an intention, or don’t. It’s a puzzle to be solved, a tool for igniting intuition, a pair of glasses to help you see, or a window into a mystical space beyond language. Find what you seek.
